In 1985 Christer Sjöfors, the father of Destination Möckeln founder Filip, started renting out canoes from time to time as a small side business. As time went on interest in canoeing started to rise and Christer therefore started a new project making Helge Å an accessable canoeing trail. Today the river is one of the most popular canoeing destinations in southern Sweden and Älmhult can proudly present a truly beautiful and unique nature experience. Christer is still renting out canoes at the age of 83 and knows the waterways surrounding Möckeln better than anyone. Give him a call and he'll give you the best advice out there!
